Objections to a company strike-off must be filed online from 1 December 2026
From 1 December 2026, objections to a limited company being struck off the Companies House register must be made through the online 'Make an objection' service. Email objections will no longer be accepted. Objectors need a Companies House account, the company's name and number, and supporting documents.
Companies House announced on 1 September 2026 that it will accept objections to a limited company's strike-off only through its online service from 1 December 2026.
What changes
- Objections must be submitted through the 'Make an objection' online service. Email objections will not be accepted after 30 November 2026.
- To object, you need a Companies House account, the name and number of the company being struck off, and supporting documents to upload. Companies House says it takes about five minutes.
Who is affected
Creditors, landlords, HMRC agents, liquidators and others who object to strike-off to protect a claim against a company, and company secretaries who object on behalf of a group company.
What to do
Set up a Companies House account for whoever handles strike-off objections, and update internal procedures that rely on email.
