ECCTA Implementation Milestone Delayed: Mandatory ACSP Registration Now November 2026 at Earliest

ECCTA compliance milestone postponed nine months: mandatory ACSP registration now November 2026 at earliest, not Spring 2026. Early registration now open on voluntary basis.

Companies House has confirmed a substantial delay to its ECCTA implementation timeline, pushing the mandatory registration deadline for Authorised Corporate Service Providers (ACSPs) from Spring 2026 to no earlier than November 2026. The postponement represents a nine-month slip on one of the most operationally significant governance reforms affecting the corporate services industry.

From November 2026 onwards, any third-party agent submitting documents to Companies House must be registered as an ACSP and supervised by a recognised UK AML supervisory body. Non-ACSP agents will be prevented from making filings entirely.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

Register as an ACSP voluntarily now via Companies House rather than waiting for the November deadline. Confirm your firm has a defined AML supervisory relationship in place. Understand that ACSP identity verification standards are prescriptive and differ from standard AML checks. Ensure board awareness of the deadline.
