Gibraltar opens its beneficial ownership register free of charge to anyone
On 23 February 2026 Gibraltar's Government announced that its Register of Ultimate Beneficial Owners would shortly be fully operational and searchable free of charge by any individual. It follows a commitment by the Chief Minister to the UK's Minister for Europe to give free and unhindered access. Gibraltar has had a public register since 2020, and improvements to the register and its enforcement come ahead of a Moneyval assessment.
Unlike the Crown Dependencies and other Overseas Territories, which limit access to people with a legitimate interest, Gibraltar is moving to open, free access.

- The register will be fully operational and free for any individual to search.
