Poland's Government approves a bill to digitise and simplify the National Court Register

On 4 August 2026 Poland's Council of Ministers adopted a deregulation bill amending the National Court Register (KRS) Act. Filings would be electronic as a rule, every registered entity would need an account in the register's system, and individuals' details would update automatically from the PESEL population register. The bill also simplifies handling of dormant entities and missing financial statements. It still needs Parliament's approval.

The Minister of Justice put the bill forward as part of the Government's deregulation programme, aiming to cut administrative burdens through automation.

What the bill proposes
  • Filings with the KRS would as a rule be made electronically.
  • Every entity in the KRS would have to open an account in the register's IT system.
  • Personal details of individuals shown in the KRS, such as board members, would update automatically from the PESEL register, without a filing.
  • Where required financial documents are not filed, a note would be entered in the KRS, and the court would not start further proceedings for later periods.
  • Simpler handling of dormant entities.
Status

This is a government bill. It still has to pass the Sejm and Senate and be signed.
